If you find yourself in San Antonio near Nacogdoches Road, Michoacan bajo cero is a must-visit ice cream shop that promises an authentic and delightful experience. This family-run gem offers more than just ice cream — it’s a vibrant celebration of Michoacán’s rich flavors and Mexican street food culture.

Located at 14070 Nacogdoches Rd Suite 1, Michoacan bajo cero stands out for its warm, inviting atmosphere and spotless interior that complements its friendly and attentive staff. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed as part of the family, with a sense of care that echoes in their service and product quality.

The menu is a treasure trove of unique offerings that elevate traditional frozen treats. Their handmade ice creams are a highlight—creamy, rich, and bursting with bold, natural flavors. Favorites among visitors include the Mangonada, a tangy mango ice cream mingled with chamoy that marries sweetness and spice perfectly, and the refreshing Watermelon paleta, which offers a light, fruity reprieve on warm Texas days. Beyond ice cream, you’ll find nostalgic street snacks like corn in a cup, elote blanco, chicharron preparado, and the ever-popular Hot Cheetos preparados, integrating crunchy, savory textures with fresh ingredients.

What truly sets Michoacan bajo cero apart is their handmade approach. Many customers celebrate the shop’s scratch-made cream, fresh fruit servings, and in-house made aguas frescas, such as the Piña Colada agua fresca that refreshes and complements the heavier, creamier desserts. This dedication to fresh, handcrafted quality means every bite feels thoughtfully crafted rather than mass-produced.

The vibe appeals to families, locals, and anyone looking for an authentic taste of Mexican ice cream culture. Kids are especially welcomed and made to feel special, making it a perfect stop for family outings or a casual treat with friends. The combination of traditional flavors with a modern, clean setting creates a space that bridges community and culinary heritage.

They’re super sweet and even opened when I accidentally came early! I was really craving some strawberries and cream, and they’re not stingy with the servings at all! I got a bunch of fresh and yummy strawberries plus they make their cream here from scratch. It’s not too sweet and is just amazing. They even make their own ice creams!!! Will definitely come back! <3

Everything we ordered was delicious and of good quality. The ice cream, aguas frescas, and other items are made fresh in-house. We ordered Agua de Piña Colada, Nieve de Nuez, Mangonada, and Elote en Vaso. In total it was a little over $17.00. Also, the place looks very clean and the people are very nice and welcoming. I will for sure be back!

I religiously come here with my friends. The owners are so friendly and let you taste whatever ice cream you’d like to taste. Whatever we buy is always so tasty and delicious. The ice popsicle are so flavorful, their ice cream is so good, their elote or bag of chips preparados. Love this place!
